My true start in real estate investing came thanks to the late Stefan Aarnio, who brought me into his Winnipeg-based firm and taught me every aspect of the business from the ground up , Aarnio, a dear friend and mentor, passed away in 2020. His work ethic continues to inspire me. His insight continues to inform the service I offer clients. Aarnio’s legacy places him as one of the country’s premier investors and his impact on the industry will be felt for years to come.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without struggle. I had to overcome a speech impediment which made school challenging, dealt with the culture shock of immigrating from Iran to Canada, and dove into real estate investing without any prior education or experience , In my first few months as an agent, I even had to work doorDash on the side (we did what we had to in the pandemic economy). These experiences showed me that anything was possible–I just had to work for it!

My career is only beginning. Just like the properties I help my client’s invest in, the biggest rewards are yet to come , With a deep background in investing, knowledge of the Vancouver market, and connections to the community, I want to continue to grow, while also staying true to my values and reputation. Starting as an Outsider...
I was born in Tehran, Iran, named Behzad. I’m the youngest of four siblings, raised in a loving family that valued education. I did well in school, getting good grades, but I didn’t really enjoy the traditional school system. My true passion was on the soccer field. Even though I was a good student, I always felt like I needed to find my own path to achieve my potential because regular school just didn’t quite fit with what I really loved.

Arriving in Canada...
In 2008, at the age of 18, my family moved to Vancouver. My initial job experience in Canada was at McDonald’s, where I earned $8 per hour. I explored various academic programs.
It wasn’t until 2015 that I found a sense of direction. I was working for a cell phone company, when a coworker introduced me to her husband. He was training to become a real estate investor and explained what he was learning , The topic fascinated me. I picked up a copy of Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad and read it cover to cover. I fell in love with the concept , My longing for a path was answered. I vowed to spend the rest of my life in real estate investing.
finding a mentor
In my quest to learn more about real estate investment, I became a part of various real estate investment firms, dedicating myself to absorbing as much knowledge as possible. It was during this journey that I came across the works of Stefan Aarnio, a prominent figure in Canada’s real estate scene.
After reading Aarnio’s book, “Self Made ” I decided to reach out to express my appreciation for his insights. To my surprise, he responded! As luck would have it, he was in Vancouver at the time and kindly extended an invitation to meet for coffee.
Initially, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was too good to be true or if I was potentially dealing with an impersonator. Nevertheless, I had nothing to lose, so I met with him to discuss my thoughts on his book. To my delight, our conversation flowed effortlessly. Aarnio appreciated my mindset and recognized my eagerness to learn, which led to him inviting me to join his real estate endeavors in Winnipeg. There was just one condition: I needed to read his three other books. I eagerly accepted the challenge and found myself in Manitoba only a few weeks later.”

As my plane flew out of YVR, I thought about what I’d be doing when I reached Winnipeg. I dreamed about finding great properties, closing deals, and the like. I was going to be just like Aarnio , But I had to work my way up to that. Aarnio started me off with fliers to hand out. Then came door knocking and similar tasks for the next few months. From there, I was led into the office to make calls and be in touch with other colleagues , I had to learn everything from scratch and figure out how the business actually works

As I boarded the plane at YVR, my thoughts turned to what awaited me in Winnipeg. I envisioned myself discovering exceptional properties, sealing lucrative deals, and following in the footsteps of Aarnio. However, I knew I had to work my way up the ladder, and Aarnio was instrumental in my training. He started me with various tasks, gradually progressing my responsibilities over the next few months. With time, I found myself in the office, making calls, and collaborating with colleagues. I had to learn the ropes from scratch and gain a deep understanding of how the real estate business truly operates. During my time in Winnipeg, I seized the opportunity to close over 50 properties, gaining invaluable experience along the way.
returning to vancouver...
The late Stefan Aarnio, my mentor and friend, passed away in 2020. He had been fighting cancer , A well-liked individual, who was as funny as he was wise, Aarnio’s loss deeply impacted everyone who worked with him. There was still so much more I wanted to learn from his insight. I was figuring out the ropes of management–and didn’t know how to keep growing the business in Winnipeg , In mourning, I returned to Vancouver, wondering what would come next.
I tried replicating the business model I had learned in Winnipeg. But Manitoba and BC are like completely different countries when it comes to real estate. For my goals to work, I had to try something new , I took some courses in real estate and got licensed in 2020.

My roots are planted in the Vancouver real estate market. I intend on serving clients here for a long time. Only two years removed from getting my licence, my business has doubled.
